*insert bad word here* ...

Come November 1st ... my pumpkin stuff comes down ... and my Christmas stuff goes up. YES ... I am one of "those people" that completely by passes Thanksgiving. I do not give it the time of day when it comes to decorations. No pumpkins ... no ears of corn (are there even decorations that are ears of corn???) ... and no pilgrims. None of it. I go straight for the tinsel ... garland ... and snowmen. I. LOVE. Every. Single. Bit. Of. It. I enjoy putting up my Christmas stuff ... and once September rolls around ... putting up my Christmas stuff is all I can think about. It makes our house feel "homey" and "Tis the Season" type thing. Then ... December 24th rolls around ... and all I can think about is that factor that I have to take it all down in just a few days. *pouty face* I would keep up the Christmas stuff if people would not think I was weird. You know ... kind of like that "crazy cat lady" that has 85 cats that lives down the street. Yeah ... that lady. I do not wanna be known as the "crazy garland lady". So ... down it comes the day after Christmas (or the day after that). ... and here it sits. ... because I am to tired to pack it all away and put it in the garage. ... because I have been trying to organize this darn house with the ba-ZILLION new toys that these 3 very spoiled ... I mean ... dearly loved children received this past Christmas season.

Because I am that cool ...

Out of 3236 blogs on the Top Mommy Blogs website ... I am officially 137 today. Whuut!! Whuut!! *raise the roof* *high five* *pat on the back* So ... if you can spare a nano second of your web surfing time ... click on this link ... http://www.topmommyblogs.com/pages/index.php and vote for my blog. Who knows ... maybe tomorrow I will move up to the top 125?!?!? Then again ... maybe I will fall back to 138???? Who knows. *shrugging shoulders*

Meet the Jetsons ...

When I was a kid ... I thought we would be living like the Jetson's come 2010!!! Did anyone else?!?!? Or was that just me?!?!? *crickets chirping* *awkard moment* Ok ... must have just been me. Moving on ...

Looking in the rear view mirror at 2010 ...

I must admit ... 2009 SUCKED donkey balls for the Moore family. When we said goodbye to 2009 ... we buried it deep in a whole and hit it over the head with a shovel a couple of times ... to make sure it did not come back to haunt us. If it was not one thing in 2009 ... it was another that went wrong in our lives. From Mr. and Mrs. Roper backing out the day before closing on buying our house (yep ... still bitter towards them a whole year later) ... to Clint being layed off with the Union for many, many, MANY, MANY ... did I mention MANY months ... along with numerous other things that kept us saying "Why us?!?!?".

The one thing that kept Clint and I going ... was the factor that we kept telling one another that ... we had our health, we were happy and we had a roof over our heads.

And trust me ... we said that ALOT in 2009.

F**king 2009.

I have to admit ... we had ALOT of high hopes for 2010. We placed ALOT of pressure on 2010 shoulders. 2010 had ALOT to live up to.

And ... the good news is ... we still have our health ... we are happy ... and we have a roof over our heads.

*awkard smile*

*shrugging shoulders*

On the New Year's Eve in 2009 ... we were literally kicking 2009's ass out the door at the stroke of midnight ... and welcoming 2010 with open arms.

Unfortunately ... 2010 was not as great as we hoped it to be. Although ... we did learn one really valuable lesson!!! Would you like me to share it with you?!?!?! It is pretty darn simple. We learned to say "F**k it" and keep on moving. We learned not to look back and dwell on what we could have done differently. We now just say, "F**k it" ... and keep on moving. It is a very valuable lesson to be learned I must say. I am surprised we did not read about ... or hear about it ... sooner!?!?!?! It would have came in handy in 2009.

*sarcastic laugh*

Yet again ... we have alot of high hopes for 2011. And yet again ... we have alot riding on 2011 shoulders. And yet again ... 2011 has alot to live up to.

Why break the tradition???

Right?!?!?!

*rolling eyes*

*shrugging shoulders*

So ... here I am ... bidding a farewell to "not exactly what we expected" in 2010 ... (but a shit load better than 2009) ... and looking forward to what is waiting for us right around the corner in 2011. I am certain that 2011 is going to be our year. It is gonna be the year that miracles happen ... wishes are granted ... and dreams finally come true.

Here is to a new year ... a new start ... and new amazing things that 2011 will bring.

*fingers crossed*

Please!!! Oh Please!!! Oh Please!!! Oh Please!!! Oh Please!!!

*fingers crossed even tighter*

Shouldn't you?!?!?

FYI ... That is where you exclaim "YES" from pure excitement!!!

We came back from Parsons ...

... with a dog and a SUV loaded full of presents ... minus 3 kiddos. And ... my house looks like the North Pole threw up in it. Everytime I get one room "re-organized" ... I find something else that belongs in that room. *ugh* Santa really should leave an elf behind to help with the f**king aftermath!

Some Christmas spirit ...

Clint and I hosted a Christmas party this year at our house. We were going to have an ugly Christmas sweater party ... but we decided instead of people investing money into a stuipid sweater that would only be worn the following year when we threw the party again ... that we would put that money to good use. So ... instead of having the ugly Christmas sweater party ... we asked everyone to bring a toy ... and we were gonna donate them to the "Toys For Tots" charity. There are so many children out there that need to feel special on Christmas morning ... and Clint and I wanted to help out. We even took our kids to the store ... and had them each buy a present to add to the "toy drive" that Clint and I had going on. The party was on December 17th ... and we had people start to show up around 6:30 to 7:00ish. I made a bunch of Mexican food ... and other people brought some yummy food to go along with it. It was a great night ... And we had many "cups full of cheer" through out the night. Thanks to everyone that came ... And everyone that brought a toy to donate to Toys For Tots. Here is the large box of toys that Clint and I ... along with the 3 amigos dropped off at the Toys For Tots building that is located down on 6th street and Wakarusa. It was a rewarding feeling to know ... that we blessed some child ... somewhere in Douglas County ... with a smile on Christmas morning. We will definately make this an annual party at our house! Nothing says Christmas more than toys ... and ... well ... alot of liquor. *wink*

Daddy can I play with it now???

Some years ... There is that one present ... That when your son opens it up ... Your husbands eyes start to sparkle ... Just like your son's are ...
This was about the time that Clint was "showing" Eythen how to aim for the cat ... the dog ... his Mommy ... and anything else that came into the "shooting range".
This was about the time that Eythen was saying ...
"Daddy! Can I play with my nerf gun now?!?!?!"

The after-math of Christmas ...

... is tearing through the Moore house ... reorganizing closets to add all the new clothes, clearing out the toy box to make room for new toys, finding those stupid twist ties in random places, attempting to shove 40 pounds of wrapping paper & 845732 boxes into a single trashcan & installing ump-teen batteries into ump-teen noise making toys.

He's making a list ...

... and checking it twice!!!

Before the kids went to bed ... we layed out apples for the reindeer. Poored milk in Santa's special cup. Each kid picked out one of their sugar cookies to leave on Santa's special plate. Sprinkled the reindeer food that Eythen made in kindergarten ... in our backyard. And looked outside to see if we could see Rudolph's red nose shining in the sky anywhere.

And then ... Clint and I stayed up for hours upon end while the kids attempted to fall asleep ... even though they were so excited they were bnouncing off the walls.
Every year ... I type out a letter from Santa ... and leave it by the kiddos stockings.
But this year was different.
Breeanna was CERTAIN if she left a piece of paper by the cookies ...
Santa would write her back.
Well ... she decided this last minute.
She knows my hand writing.
She knows Clint's hand writing.
So thankful our amazing neighbor ... Chuck ... helped the magic stay alive ...
and played Santa for a few moments and wrote this letter to the kids.
Breeanna was THRILLED to read it Christmas morning!

Eythen left the "E" cookie.Breeanna left the bowling pin and bowling ball cookie ...
because she was certain Santa goes bowling when it is "his off season".
Harleigh left the circle cookie
I hope each and everyone of you had a very Merry Christmas.

And to all a goodnight ...

It is Christmas Eve peeps!!! Well ... ok ... it is actually the day after Christmas ... so this blog is a wee bit late. In order for me to post this blog on Christmas Eve ... I had to wait to snap a photo of "Santa's" gifts in the living room. Well ... Clint and I did not get done wrapping presents and organzing everything until well after 1 am. So ... after I snapped the "winning shot" ... the last thing I wanted to do was to log onto my blog ... down load the photos ... and wish you all a Merry Christmas. Sorry. That may have been a bit rude. But I was so darn tired ... that I had visions of sugar plums dancing in my head.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care ...
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap ...
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.

Well ... not actually. Clint and I were totally exhausted ...

Perhaps there was some beer and wine involved at this point in time.

We OFFICALLY got all of our
Christmas presents wrapped ...
and in less than 6 hours ...
our living room would look like
the North Pole trew up in it.
I think Santa did a pretty good job this year.
He was ready to go ...
Had his game face on ...
And brough his A Game ...
This was Eythen's "special" present for Mommy and Daddy this year. This was Breeanna's "special" present for Mommy and Daddy this year.
This was Harleigh's "special" present for Mommy and Daddy this year.

But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight ...

"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Merry Christmas from ...

A family tradition ...

Every year on Christmas Eve ... Clint, the kids and I make sugar cookies. This is the one time in the year that I bust out the receipe for sugar cookies ... and make them from scratch. Last year ... I even started making my frosting from scratch. And I have to admit ... I was secretly waiting to sink my teeth into a mouth watering sugar cookie for a few months now. YUM-EEE!!! So sit back ... and enjoy the ride ... as you look through the photos of our family tradition.
FYI ... Harleigh is not in alot of these photos
during the "baking process" (aka: Thursday evening).
She was not feeling very well.
So ... this is what she did most of the evening.
She held the cat hostage.
But ... rest assure ...
Christmas Eve ... she was back in the mix of things ...
and was back in business when it came to decorating the ba-zillin cookies
everyone else cut the night before.
Clint showing Breeanna the "fine art" of cookie cutting.
Harleigh came in the kitchen to cut a few cookies with all of us.
Well ... ok ... I have a small confusion.
I kind of "made" Harleigh leave the "cat hostage" situation ...
so I could snap a photo of her "acting like" she was
apart of the "family tradition" in 2010.
This year ... I promised Eythen I would not tell
Santa that he was bad. I told him that I
would tell Santa that he was "Trying to Behave 24/7 Challenged".
All of the sugar fumes sometimes get the best of us.
Yep ... the sugar fumes have put her on a sugar high.
There are no if's, and's or but's about it.
Either that ...
Or she is crazy?!?!?!
Eythen counting out how many he wants to eat ...
after they come out of the oven.
AND ... how many he wants to eat ...
after they have been decorated the next day.
Chairs are SO over rated ...
Eythen cutting the dough out of some spots on a sugar cookie
that was shaped as a snowman.
He wanted it to have "eyes" ...
a "nose" ...
a "mouth" ...
and "buttons" ...
It's DECORATING DAY!
Let the mess and giggles begin!!!
This was only a 1/4 of the disaster that was left behind.
And guess who was nominated
for clean up duty?!?!
ME!!!!
I won by a landslide!!!
P.S. My super cute and amazing husband helped me
clean up the mess! He must be up to something?!?!?!
Nothing say Merry Christmas better than ...
neon frosting ...
heart shapped cookies ...
pink glitter sprinkles ...
and butterfly cookies.
Merry Christmas from our sugar high family ... to yours!!!

Look at the pretty lights ...

Every year we drive around Eudora, Lawrence ... and sometimes other area towns ... in search of some cool Christmas lights to look at.  Last night ... I packed a "sack dinner" for the kids ... and we loaded up the car (which only took us 15 minutes to finally get out the door ... AFTER I told everyone that it was time to go) ... and drove to Lawrence.

I had came across this cool "KU house" online that I wanted Clint to drive us all past.  The guy has his lights set to play to music that he has playing on radio station 98.7.  AND ... he has this AMAZING light "show" that goes along with the KU song.

In fact ... if you CLICK HERE you can read my prior blog about the KU Christmas house and see the video on the light show.  Go ahead and read it ... I will wait.

*insert elevator music here*

Oh!  Your back?!  Great!

Pretty cool, huh?!?!  Well ... if you are a K-State fan ... you can keep your opinion to yourself.

Anywho ...

Let me fill you in on one more thing before I go any far in this blog ...

My husband has NO PATIENCE when he is behind the wheel.  Now ... I would not say that he has road rage ... but it is border line.  When I think of road rage ... I think of cutting people off ... flipping people off ... driving at lighting speed ... pulling up next to someone at a stop light and pulling out a gun.  You know ... that type of thing.  That is how I "define" road rage.  Doesn't everyone?

I would not say Clint is that bad ... but he does cuss people out ALL the time.  Eythen has told him "The police are gonna find you if you don't slow down." (which was just last night might I add).  He rides bumpers way to close when he "feels" like they are not going the "correct" speed limit in his world ... even though he "claims" he is "two car lengths behind them".  Uhhh ... perhaps two tricycle lengths behind them ... but not two car lengths behind them.  He also causes me to have near panic attacks because of his actions.  I do the normal ... "CLINT!" ... or grab for the door handle ... or I have been known to use my "pretend" emergency break on my side of the vechile (when he is inches away from opening up someones trunk with the front of our vechile ... my foot instantly hits the floor in "hopes" of stopping the vechile myself) when he is way to close to someone (which happened numerous times last night as well) ... OR I will let out a "NOT IN MY NEW YUKON" scream.

Ok ... anywho ...

Where were we ...

So ...

I told you to CLICK HERE and read my prior blog about the KU house.

And ...

I told you that Clint is NOT PATIENT AT ALL when he is behind the wheel.

Ok ... that is about it ...

Back to the blog ...

So at about 7:30 we turned down the correct street where the KU house was.  Now ... if you have never seen this house ... and plan on going to see it this Christmas ... let me "teach you" the do's and don't.  Take this moment to learn from the Moore Family mistakes.

As we turned down the block ... you could already see the "glow" of the house 3 blocks away.  It was an amazing sight.

Until ...

You got TO the house.

As you are driving on the right hand side of the road ... in anticipation of seeing the most amazing KU site EVER ... there are cars "parked" on the left hand side of the road "watching" the light show.  The cars are lined up from the front of the house ... to the side of the house (the house is on the corner of the block) ... down the block ... and TWO blocks behind that.  YEAH!  All of these cars are "parked" on the left hand side of the road "waiting" for their turn to pull up to the front of the house to "watch" the light show.

So ... Clint put on his parking lights ... and slowly drove down the right hand side of the road ... and went to the end of the line.  Even at the "end of the line" you can still see some of the lights going on.  THERE ARE THAT MANY LIGHTS ON THE HOUSE!

So ... I turn on 98.7 and we listen to the music ... and see the twinkle of the lights from WAY up ahead.

Breeanna:  "Eythen!  Move your head!  I can't see!"

*Eythen bobs his head back and forth*

*Breeanna shoves Eythen*

Eythen:  "Owie"

Eythen:  "MOM!  Breeanna hit me!"

Breeanna:  "No I didn't!  I shoved him!"

Breeanna:  "I can't see the lights with his big head in the way!"

Me:  "Guys!  There are no lights to see right now!"

Eythen:  "Yes there are!  But they are to far away for me to see."

Eythen:  "Dad ... I can't see."

Me:  "Patience guys!  We will move the car up as other people leave and we will eventually move up to the front of the house to see the "light show".

*10 seconds later*

Eythen:  "This is taking to long."

We are "slowly" moving up in the "car line".  There are SO many cars "parked" against the side of the road.  Some people are blocking homeowners driveways.  I have to admit ... if I was a neighbor ... I would be pissed.

Eythen:  "That car really needs to turn it's lights off when it drives towards us.  There lights are to bright and it blinds me."

*confused look from me*

Did my 6 year old son just realize that some people are not being poliete and not turning their parking lights on as they drive down the side of the road ... while attempting to get to the end of the "car line"?

FINALLY ... 15 minutes later ... we are on the side of the house.

*pretty lights flickering to the music coming over the radio*

Eythen:  "HEY!  That car up there cut!  They did not go to the end of the line!  They just pulled up in front of the first car!"

*still trying to watch the lights as I bob back and forth in hopes of trying to avoid the back of Clint's head*

*Eythen moves to sit on my lap in the front seat*

*now trying to bob back and forth in hopes of trying to avoid the back of Eythen's head*

*seeing the back of Clint's head*

*seeing the back of Eythen's head*

*seeing the back of Clint's head*

Oh forget it.  I just sit back and listen to the music while everyone else sees the lights.

Harleigh:  "DAD!  Those people cut, too!  Look Dad!"

Me:  "Is anyone watching the lights?"

Breeanna:  "I am!"

Harleigh:  "I am trying!  But these people are really bothering me!"

Eythen:  "I'm not.  I wanna get out of here."

*18 seconds later*

Eythen:  "Dad!  Let's get out of here!"

Clint:  "Well ... I can't drive anywhere because you are in the front seat and not in the back buckled up.  AND ... I can't move anywhere because these people are blocking the whole entire block.

UPDATE ON THE TRAFFIC ON THE BLOCK ... the people that are "suspose" to be driving on the right hand side of the road ... and "suspose" to be driving with their parking lights on ... and "suspose" to be driving to the end of the line ... CAN'T!  There is one car that decided it would be a brillant idea to pull up RIGHT NEXT TO OUR CAR and STOP to "watch the light show".  Then you have the people trying to leave (like the four cars infront of us) ... but CAN'T because of that lady as well.  They can not pull away from the left hand side of the road to leave ... because she has all of this traffic backed up and blocking anyone trying to enter or exit the block.

Harleigh:  "This lady is driving me NUTS!"

Eythen:  "I just wanna get out of here."

Clint:  "We will try to leave once the KU light show comes on one more time."

*waiting*

*6 year old getting ticked off*

*8 year old getting pissed*

*Me not sure when my 6 year old and 8 year old started to turn into their Dad with the "No Patience" thing*

Harleigh:  "I really wanna get out of the car and tell that lady to move her car because she is not being nice!"

Eythen:  "Do it Harleigh!  Go say ... Move it old lady."

Breeanna:  "That is not nice Eythen."

Harleigh:  "She is not being nice stopping in the middle of the road."

Eythen:  "Dad!  Can we go now?"

*sigh*

Clint:  "Fine!  We will leave"

*Eythen moves to backseat and buckles up*

Merry Freaking Christmas everyone.

*geeezzeee*

Oh yeah!  Remember how Clint said we would leave once the KU light show played one more time.  Well ... as we are driving away ... what comes on the radio ... and lights start to twinkle to the beat ... the KU song.

*giggle*

Of all the darn luck.

*shaking head*

So what did we learn today boys and girls?!?!?

1.  If you are gonna go to the KU house and watch the light show ... DON'T.

2.  Harleigh and Eythen are NOT PATIENT ... just like their Father.

GO KU ...

Dear KU Basketball Game Time Scheduling Gods: 10:00 p.m. Really?!?! Does the game HAVE to come on so darn late? How am I suspose to get up and function the next day ... if I am up clear until midnight watching Selby? Next time ... could we perhaps keep the games before 8:00 pm. Just a suggestion ...

*sigh* ...

I use to love Christmas ... until I had to start paying for it. *double sigh*

If you ...

... have been naughty this Christmas ... be happy if you get coal!!! There are blind snowmen out there that would kill for it!!!

Dear Santa:

Please forgive me! I was really looking forward to some really cool gifts this year. I can explain about that day back in June. I CAN ... REALLY! There are two sides to every story! Please remember that.

Dear Santa:

If I send you the directions ... will you have the reindeer poop on a certain house when you fly over it?

He sees you ...

... when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awak. He knows if you've been good or bad ... so close your blinds for goodness sake. Is it just me ... or does Santa kind of sounds like a stalker ... or a peeping tom?!?!

Well ...

... the weather outside is delight-ful. But my account ... it is very frightful. What happened to all of our dough??? I don't know ... I don't know ... I don't know.

Three more days till Christmas ...

Dear Clinton ...

I hope you like your Christmas present this year! It is a year supply of ... ME!!!

Much Love: The one that makes you lunch, does your laundry, has dinner on the table, cleans the house and punches you at night while you are sleeping when you snore to loud.

Do you KNOW ...

... how GOOD it feels to have ALL your Christmas shopping finished??? Because frankly ... I don't have a clue.

Fa - La - La- La - La ...

The Eudora Elementary students can try out for the Honor's Choir when they are in the 4th and 5th grade. So ... this year ... my first born entered the 4th grade ... and decided to put her singing skills to the test. Low and behold ... all of that singing in the shower that she is always doing ... paid off. The little dickins made the Honor's Choir! So proud of her! They practice every single Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 in the morning. And have concerts through out the year. A little special shout out goes to Amy for helping get Breeanna to her practices many times this past semester. On December 14th at 7:00 ... the students had their first Honor's Choir concert for the Christmas season. They sounded AHHH-mazing!!!

It's a bird! It's a plane! It is my little gymnast ...

Harleigh had another gymnastic meet a few weeks ago. Yes ... I am just now finally getting the chance to download the photos and get them on my blog. Bad Mommy! Anywho ... Harleigh did amazing at the meet! I always love to watch her do her thing and flip and turn and smile her way through the events. She walked away with another medal to add to her collection ... YEAH BUGS!
